1. 49th Annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade
The Wilmington Jaycees are currently planning for the 49th Annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade to be held in Downtown Wilmington on Saturday, November 30th at 11 am. Due to the fantastic turnout on last year’s change to Saturday, we’re sticking with it for this year. This year’s Parade will again feature

*Marching and String Bands
*Community organizations
*Floats and attractions
*Statewide Pageant Winners
*Your Favorite Cartoon Characters
And the Star of the Show – Santa Claus! Elves will be accepting Christmas wish lists from children for Santa. Children who provide their name and address will receive a response from Santa in December.

Follow the yellow brick road to the DCM for a special luncheon featuring some of your favorite Wizard of Oz characters. Families will enjoy a lunch buffet of sandwiches, fruit and veggies, yummy treats, and more (including munchkins, of course), all while Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, and the Wicked Witch from the upcoming Delaware Children’s Theatre production of The Wizard of Oz visit for an exclusive meet-and-greet, photo opportunity, and performance.
3. John Pinette – Still Hungry Tour
John Pinette will present a hilarious evening of stand-up comedy at the DuPont Theatre on Friday, November 29th at 8:00pm. 4. Hagley Museum and Library Thanksgiving Weekend Family Activities
On Thanksgiving weekend visitors can celebrate the food and traditions of the nineteenth century. They can enjoy a taste of a traditional nineteenth-century Thanksgiving meal and discover the quirks and challenges of cooking with a wood stove. Children can dress up in nineteenth-century clothing—bring a camera!
Extravagant, fruit-adorned trees towering as high as 18 feet stand in our Conservatory and red and green apples float in an artistic pattern in our Exhibition Hall. This year, our Music Room display pays homage to the Green Room at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, DE, featuring sugared fruit-laden trees and a lavish holiday tea set for 18 special guests.
