There has been a lot of hustle and bustle around the Wilmington Public Library located next to The Residences at Rodney Square and now the $10.4 million dollar renovations are completed. The historic building was originally built in 1922 and renovated once in 1968. Renovations included bringing the library up-to-date with the 21st Century, new children’s and teen space on the lower level, which houses a computer room, five new conference spaces, a partitionable media room, literacy lounge, job center with computer lounge, a kitchenette for conference spaces, staff office spaces and a staff kitchen.
Several events will be held at the library to celebrate including the following:

12:00am – Stories with a Twist by Peg Broadwater
followed by balloon giveaway

6:00pm – Family Program with the Juggling Hoffmans

A program that allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog in order to improve reading and communication skills
