Santa has left the city and spring is in the air. Here is a full on look at what Live, Work, Play and other Wilmington residents can expect to find this Easter!
Number One: Easter Bunny Sightings near You
Peter Cottontail will be making plenty of Wilmington pit stops in the upcoming months so be sure to pack the toddlers and the camera to capture those magical moments. You can catch the Easter Bunny at the Concord Mall from March 29th through April 19th with photo shoots starting at 10 a.m. If you miss him at the mall, no worries. Mr. Cottontail will also be taking some one and a half hour joyrides on the Wilmington and Western Railroad and you and your family are always invited to tag along. This is a photo friendly event featuring a scenic springtime tour. If you come in a group of 20 or more you have the option of renting the caboose and enjoying a private party with Peter as your guest.
Number Two: Egg Hunts for the Tots and Bone Hunts for the Pups
Welcome to pet friendly Delaware, where every dog deserves an Easter bone. PAWS for People will be holding their annual doggy bone hunt on Saturday, April 12th at Blue Hen Bed & Breakfast. The hunt begins at 1:30 and your dog’s admission is free. The Easter Bunny will be stopping through to see the pooches dig for prizes and he’s likely to pose for a few photos with the kiddies.
The Wilmington Riverfront will be hosting a rocking egg hunt on March 22nd this year. The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. at Wilmington Blue Rocks in collaboration with 99.5 WJBR. The Marshall Stream Museum and Auburn Heights is launching a series of egg hunts beginning April 12th. These hunts feature child friendly rides, bountiful baskets and of course, the world’s most beloved bunny.
Number Three: Build your Own Bonnet Crafting
In honor of the season and the upcoming holiday, Live, Work, Play residents can participate in a unique bonnet crafting workshop taking place at Rockwood Park and Museum. Crafters will be encouraged to weave colorful spring hats out of natural materials while touring a Victorian mansion. The excitement is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. sharp and materials will be supplied onsite.
When it comes to holidays, Wilmington Delaware is a great place to be for family friendly adventure. Even your pets can enjoy the festivities as they spring up with the flowers this season.
