Get in the holiday spirit and kick off your Small business Saturday shopping with the 54th annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade!
The parade will be held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving (November 25) in conjunction with Small Business Saturday, an annual shopping holiday encouraging people to support local businesses during the holiday season. The festivites begins at 11:00 AM from 4th and Market Street and proceeds north to Rodney Square. It will then travel east on 11th to King Street, continue south on King Street and return to 4th Street. The parade features local celebrities and dignitaries, marching and string bands, statewide pageant winners, dance troupes, floats and antique cars, cartoon characters and much more. The “star of the show,” as always, will be Santa Claus. Children are encouraged to bring letters with their complete mailing address to Santa, and drop it off when he passes along the parade route.
As a reminder, road closures and parking restrictions on the parade route will be in effect from approximately 9:00 AM to 1:00PM. All vehicles will be restricted from using Market Street and King Street (between 3rd and 11th) and the cross streets from 3rd to 11th Streets between Shipley and King Streets.
