Buccini Pollin Group (BPG) in collaboration with BPGS Construction, and the University of Delaware, has officially broken ground on a new luxury multifamily development at the University of Delaware’s STAR Campus in Newark. The $75 million project will mark the first multifamily complex on UD’s campus.
Luxury Living on STAR campus
BPG will bring this vision to life with designs by Philadelphia-based architecture firm, DIGSAU. The future community will reflect both modernity and function, featuring two seven-story buildings, connected by a dramatic glass skybridge. Together, the buildings will span a total of 235,000 square feet.
When complete, the buildings will provide 229 apartments, including studios, and 1- and 2-bedrooms homes. The units will range from 600 to 1,100 square feet, equipped with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, light wood-tone flooring, and in-unit washers and dryers. Select apartments will offer private balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light. Resident conveniences will include indoor and outdoor spaces thoughtfully designed for comfort and connection. Among the highlights are:
- Resort-style pool with grilling and dining areas
- Landscaped courtyard, pickleball court, and fenced dog run
- Indoor half-court basketball and full fitness center
- Resident lounge, game room, and communal kitchen
- 231 parking spaces and ample bike storage.
Growing Ties—Strengthening Community
The University of Delaware and Buccini Pollin Group have collaborated on previous projects such as the UD Bookstore on Main Street, and the first ever building on the STAR Campus, BLOOM Energy. However, the new multifamily development will be the first residential collaboration between UD and BPG and represents an established yet still growing relationship. Further, the new community represents BPG’s ongoing commitment to bringing quality housing and employment opportunities to residents of Delaware, as the project is expected to generate 230 new construction jobs. When finished, STAR will be a thriving, mixed-use district featuring upscale housing, luxury amenities, and true community connection.
BPG and BPGS Construction will manage the development, while ResideBPG will handle leasing and property management.
