Wilmington is the city to be in for many up and comers. Artists, dancers, vendors and musicians all test the Wilmington Riverfront waters to see if they have what it takes to be the next big thing. In recent years, businesses have followed their lead. With each season, the Riverfront sees new business ventures plant roots in the heart of the city in hopes that their efforts will blossom. Below are four of the best new businesses in Wilmington, all of which are just minutes from your Live, Work, Play abode.
Number Four: The Oddity Bar
The Oddity Bar takes the fourth spot with one of the widest assortments of bottled and canned ales in the state of Delaware. Since its June 2013 debut, the Oddity Bar has housed a massive calendar of events ranging from bi-weekly open mic nights to funky melodic performances from many different artists. Better still, most of their events do not require bar goers to pay any additional cover charge! Bar hoppers can often breeze on in, order up a brew and relax while enjoying the show.
Number Three: Jerry’s Artarama
This full service art supply store is an amazing addition to Market Street. The city of Wilmington is well known for holding various art competitions and now eager Delaware artists won’t have to drive too far to stock up on supplies. The shelves of Jerry’s Artarama rival those of Michael’s and JoAnne Fabrics but are geared slightly more towards painters, sketchers and mural creators.
Number Two: CrossFit
Live, Work, Play fitness enthusiasts can enjoy the thrill of working out on the waterfront thanks to the construction of this promising and innovative gym. CrossFit designs their classes around individual fitness goals to create a workout just for you. Their all new fitness facility boasts 12,000 square feet of strength building space. They are conveniently located next to the IMAX movie theatre, making training and a movie a unique possibility for Live, Work, Play and other Wilmington residents.
Number One: The Wilmington Public Library
The red ribbon was officially cut this January and book lovers will be thrilled with Wilmington’s massive selection of reading material available to the public free of charge. A day on the riverfront proves even more exciting when the mind is free to roam the aisles of The Wilmington Public Library.
