Get your sweet tooth ready: It's almost time for the New Castle County Ice Cream Festival! Known as "Delaware's largest family picnic," this annual festival, which draws up to 12,000 every year, takes over the Rockwood Museum & Park for two full days of entertainment, food, shopping, and, of course, plenty of ice cream from local creameries.

This year, event-goers can expect live music on two stages, plus local vendors selling handmade arts and crafts. Pint-sized attendees can have a blast in the children's area, complete with animals and games. Be sure to stick around for the “Best Sundae on Sunday,” during which local ice cream vendors compete for the title of "best sundae."

This year, the festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 26. Stop by to see why, in 2014, USA Today dubbed the event among the top 10 food festivals in the US!
