Fourth of July Wilmington DE

The City of Wilmington will celebrate our patriotic spirit with the July 4th Celebration on the Riverfront.

Join Mayor Dennis P. Williams in Tubman-Garrett Park on Friday, July 4th, as we celebrate our independence with fireworks, food, arts, culture and special live performances by several bands representing various musical genres.

This year, the July 4th Celebration on the Riverfront begins with a free concert starting at 2:00 p.m., and will feature live musical performances from MINSHARA, a Harrisburg-based rock band, the blues and soul sounds of Deb Callahan, the Latin music rhythms of Miguel Orlando, with R&B hits played by Mozaic Flow, finishing the evening will be the high energy performance of Washington, D.C.’s Familiar Faces, followed by our celebrated fireworks display.

There will also be historical reenactments, games, rides, arts, face painting, magicians, crafts, as well as a crab feast, and various food and drink vendors.

“Fourth of July is about patriotism and celebrating our independence,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams. “Wilmington’s Independence Day celebration on the Riverfront will bring together young and old generations to remember our nation’s legacy and history.”

Due to the July 4th festivities there will be road closures. All traffic going to the Riverfront will be closed at 8:30 p.m. At that time traffic will only be able to exit as all lanes will be directed out of the Riverfront area. In addition, the Market Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic at 5:00 p.m.
