This Wednesday, Dec. 21, is the perfect time to visit Winterthur. That's due to the fact that the museum of American decorative arts (formerly the private home of collector and horticulturist Henry Francis du Pont), will be hosting live jazz (and a cash bar!) between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The jazz night, called Yuletide Jazz & Wine, is part of Yuletide at Winterthur, an annual event at the mansion. A feast for the eyes, Yuletide at Winterthur decks the halls of the mansion with all of the splendor of the season — with a twist of nostalgia. If you're thinking about attending the Yuletide Jazz & Wine, be sure to first take a guided tour throughout the museum. You'll encounter an 18-room dollhouse (measuring 6 feet tall!) as well as a holiday tree crafted from more than 60 varieties of dried flowers.

Access to Yuletide at Winterthur is included in Winterthur general admission, and tickets can be purchased online. Check out the museum's events page for advance notice of special happenings!
