Massanutten Resort (McGaheysville, VA)
At just over four hours driving time away, Massanutten is a fantastic choice for those seeking a full weekend getaway in the mountains of Virginia. With 1,110 feet of vertical, Massanutten offers the most in Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania, making it the ultimate destination that also happens to be open year-round. Roundtop Mountain Resort (Lewisberry, PA)
Two hours east of downtown Wilmington is Roundtop and the slopes are open! Skiing and snowboarding are available at Roundtop, but if you want to squeeze some tubing in, you’ll have to head to their sister resort, Whitetail. Shawnee Mountain (East Stroudsburg, PA)
Located two hours north of Wilmington, it’s an easy drive to Shawnee, where skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing await. Known as the “Beginner’s Mountain”, Shawnee is the ideal spot to bring a new skier/snowboarder. Get lift tickets online ahead of time or even opt for the season ticket package for the best price. Shawnee is especially great not just for those new to winter sports, but groups as well – they offer a killer group package, so bring along the whole gang and more!
