Have you seen the creative art in windows all along the street?
Through a partnership of Downtown Visions, the Creative Vision Factory and the Wilmington Police Department vacant storefront windows are now works of art.
The mural and art project was spearheaded by Master Corporal Malcolm Stoddard, a 13 year veteran of the department who looked for ways to improve downtown, and identified vacant storefronts on Market Street and worked to coordinate a community effort to create and install murals and creative art in the storefronts. Murals and art have successfully been used around the county to improve quality of life and deter crime by improving a community’s physical environment.
Downtown Visions provided funding for the project and the Creative Vision Factory created the artworks. Thanks to the dedication of Wilmington Police Department and Master Corporal Malcolm Stoddard Downtown Wilmington continues to be a great place to live, work and play!
