Wine & Dinosaurs presented by M&T Bank will take place to benefit the Delaware Museum of Natural History on Sunday, September 14, from 12-4 p.m. Guests will enjoy fine wines, craft beer, live music, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction, as they explore the Museum’s land, sea, and air habitats.

“Grab some friends and come support the Museum. It’s a lot of fun,” said Museum Trustee and Event Chair Kurt Heyman. “We’re adding a Beer Garden with live entertainment by the Lukens Band and Dave Mattock’s Taproom Trio. In the Dinosaur Hall, we’ll be featuring members of the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia, the oldest men’s singing group in America (no pun intended!), and jazz duo Shawn Q and Sharon Sable will set the mood in our African Watering Hole, where we’ve also added a whiskey tasting. In addition, the Wall of Wine is back. Guests can purchase a pull and hope to get one of the delicious, high-end wines. All the wines are good, so everyone goes away happy!”

This year’s event will also feature wine and food pairing talks by Domaine Hudson’s Sommelier and General Manager Roger Surpin, and beer talks by Joe Sixpack (Don Russell), America’s best-known beer writer, and founder and original executive director of Philly Beer Week.

Highlights from the extensive silent auction include this year’s American Girl doll, Isabelle, paintings, sculpture and drawings by local artists, including a beautiful sound sculpture by Jeff Bell, tickets to area venues, such as World Café Live at the Queen and The Grand, Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Union tickets, incredible getaways to the Inn at Montchanin and the British Virgin Islands, fine dining gift certificates, spa services, and more.

Wine and Dinosaurs

Wine & Dinosaurs began in 2007 to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the Museum’s dinosaur display. The fundraiser has evolved into a signature event, raising thousands of dollars to fund operations and programming, while also supporting the Museum’s mission to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery.

Wines will be presented by Moore Brothers Wine Company, Ryan’s Wines & Spirits, and The Wine & Spirit Co. of Greenville. Delicious bits and bites will be available from the Museum’s elite catering partners: Bixby’s Caterers, Gallagher & Gallagher “The Caterers,” The Greenery, Montrachet Fine Foods, Toscana Catering, Caffe Gelato, and Domaine Hudson. Craft beers from a variety of local and international brewers will complement the offerings to suit all tastes.

Advance tickets are $55 for the general public and $45 for Museum members. Admission will be $65 at the door. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.delmnh.org or call (302) 658-9111. Must be 21 or older to attend.
