Over the past decade revitalization efforts have occurred throughout the country, and Wilmington Delaware has become a model of what can happen when people take it upon themselves to make a change.  From individual shop owners to the major corporations and colleges that call Wilmington DE home, each is doing their part to create a more vibrant community life.

Today we have a revitalized Wilmington Riverfront with modern residences, condominiums, townhomes,  exceptional restaurants and shops, and a natural wildlife preserve with paved walkways.  Cultural attractions include the bustling Delaware Children’s Museum, the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, the Delaware Theater Company and Opera Delaware.  The Wilmington Delaware Riverfront is also home to our beloved Carolina League Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Wilmington Rowing Center. The Wilmington Riverfront combines the best of city living with the invigorating access to outdoor recreation – an unrivaled neighborhood indeed.

Downtown Wilmington Delaware has seen the restoration of a section of Market Street, brought back to life with the energy and enthusiasm of entrepreneurs and artists.  Lined with entertainment venues, restaurants, condominiums, townhomes, apartments,  shops and historic residences, this district is quickly becoming the place to be.  Delaware College of Art & Design calls Market Street home, as does the newly renovated and reopened World Cafe Live at The Queen.  This creative district has attracted advertising and design firms, The Film Brothers Coop, coffee shops and Jazz clubs.  Market Street is truly alive and kicking!

The New Wilmington Delaware could only have happened with the support of a city of people committed to making Wilmington a fun and vibrant place to live, work and play.  We are proud to be a part of this exciting time to be a Wilmingtonian.  We invite you to be one too!
