Join your fellow neighbors for Open Streets Wilmington! This initiative encourages people to be active, socialize, and enjoy the beautiful Brandywine Park!

On Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. through the end of November, Open Streets temporarily restricts vehicle access along North Park Drive and South Park Drive between Market Street Bridge and Van Buren Street Bridge, transforming 1.5 miles of streets into an extension of the park. The simplicity of the pilot series is central to the experience – it’s not a race, there’s no start or finish line, and there’s no wrong place to enter. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to walk, run, bike, skate, play, or just people-watch in this serene and beautiful setting, free from concern about vehicular traffic.
Brandywine Zoo and other sections of Brandywine Park will remain accessible by car through alternate routes. For more information, including an Open Streets map and a list of FAQs, visit www.OpenStreetsWilmington.com.

This is simply the beginning – please feel free to suggest ways we can make Open Streets even better next year. You can send your ideas directly to this email address, OpenStreets@wilmingtonde.gov.
